By MID CityBeat Lifestyle
In a city known for its rich cultural heritage and rapidly evolving urban landscape, a new chapter in real estate development is being written—this time, with a woman at the helm.
MID CityBeat had the honor of attending the dazzling inauguration of Armorán Plaza back in May, Grupo Foret’s newest mixed-use project in Temozón Norte. And let’s just say—it was a seriously fun night. A full symphony orchestra performed pop hits as fireworks illuminated the Yucatán sky, while guests mingled over exquisite canapés and champagne.
Some weeks later, we stopped by Ana Cristina Correa Cervera’s office to hear her story in person—a conversation that left us deeply inspired.
“What inspired me to take this path in a field dominated by men is that I thought women had something to say. We bring depth to what we do—not only vision, we bring execution.”
— Ana Cristina Correa Cervera
Leading with Vision and Heart
A lawyer by profession and notary aspirant, Ana Cristina is the General Director of Grupo Foret and the first female real estate developer in the state of Yucatán. Her leadership combines intelligence, empathy, and a bold sense of social responsibility.
“I’m the first one,” Ana says, “but I don’t want to be the only one. I want to show other women what they’re capable of—to make them believe they, too, have something to say.”
GRUPO FORET: Building More Than Buildings
Founded six years ago, Grupo Foret has quickly become one of Yucatán’s most innovative development companies, known for blending sustainability, design, and community impact.
Under Ana’s leadership, each project is tied to a social cause through Fundación Foret, the company’s philanthropic arm.
The inauguration of Armorán Plaza, for instance, was dedicated to supporting a shelter for women and children who have survived domestic and gender-based violence—helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and autonomy.
Other ongoing initiatives include:
- A children’s orphanage (Fundación Emmanuel)
- A community center in San Ignacio that trains locals for employment
A dog shelter (Ana is a passionate animal lover)
“At first, we were just helping people who came to us in need,” Ana recalls. “But we realized we needed to do it with intention. Now, with Fundación Foret, every development contributes to a cause. It makes us more conscious of our impact—and gives purpose to everything we do.”
Sustainability at the Core
Ana’s developments are designed to last, guided by a deep respect for the environment and the people who will inhabit them.
“We only have one planet,” she says. “We have to build with materials of the sun, make things last, make them greener. You’re not just selling properties—you’re participating in one of the most important moments in people’s lives.”
Her projects reflect that philosophy—clean lines, sustainable systems, and spaces that invite connection, both human and natural.
Advice for Future Trailblazers
“Be careful with what you wish for—because things don’t fall from the sky. You have to study hard, work hard, and keep showing up.”
Ana’s advice is rooted in experience.
“I’m the first one here in the morning and the last one to leave at night,” she says with a laugh. “But if you love what you do, you’ll be happy, thankful, and fulfilling your purpose. Just keep your focus, keep working, and stay committed to your goals.”
A Legacy of Leadership and Purpose
Today, Grupo Foret has over 11,000 clients and continues to grow at a remarkable pace. But for Ana, success is measured less by numbers and more by impact.
“Once you have your own table,” she reflects, “you have to remember that you’re impacting people’s lives. With privilege comes responsibility—to put value into the world and make good things happen.”
Her story is one of determination, integrity, and vision—a reminder that progress isn’t only about what we build, but how and why we build it.
From her pioneering role as Yucatán’s first female developer to her unwavering commitment to sustainability and social good, Ana Cristina Correa Cervera isn’t just constructing spaces—she’s building a more conscious and compassionate future for Yucatán.
