Every Wednesday morning:

Artist Raúl Gasque invites you to join him on his visits to museums and galleries in the city of Mérida. The tours start at the cultural hotel Kuka & Naranjo. These visits are a unique opportunity to explore local exhibitions and cultural centers in depth. For more information, contact WhatsApp 999 5029 019. The cost is $500 pesos.

Don’t miss the exhibition Graciela Iturbide. When Light Speaks at the Citibanamex Culture House – Casa Montejo Museum. This is a must-see event for photography lovers, featuring an impressive selection of works by Mexico’s most renowned photographer. The curation of the exhibition is excellent, making it one of the best shows of the year in Yucatán.

A Multidisciplinary Exhibition:

The Naming the Universe exhibition is being showcased at the Centro de Artes Visuales. This exhibition features the works of exceptionally talented artists such as Manuel Mathar and Idalid Castillo. Through the curation of Emilio Said, various expressions come together in a conceptually comprehensive exhibition.

Starting from the first Thursday of September:

Taller 62 presents Abandoned Album, an exhibition by artist Sebastián Dávila. Immerse yourself in a surreal world where the artist’s unique style brings his works to life.

At Salón Gallos:

Junk Culture by Bryan Rindfuss opens. This exhibition promises to surprise with its fusion of metaphors and symbols, exploring our existence through a vibrant juxtaposition.

At Casa Gemela:

The 10/10 exhibition offers a collection of figurative paintings and drawings that adorn the elegant foyer of this iconic house.

Brenda Carrión offers a talk for those interested in collecting and investing in art, covering essential aspects of art culture and the art market.

Alberto Arceo, a renowned curator and professor, will be teaching an accessible course to better understand art. Take advantage of this opportunity to deepen your appreciation and knowledge of art.

El Anfibio Dorado by Fernando Montiel Klint

 

El Anfibio Dorado (The Golden Amphibian) is a series of photographs by photographer Fernando Montiel Klint. Fernando is a renowned author who develops projects in Mexico that revolve around contemporary philosophical states. The series was partially worked with Artificial Intelligence and highlights the new scope of image discourse.

Learn Spanish Through Art, Culture & History: A Journey Beyond the Classroom

Art & Spanish is a personalized class where students learn about the art and history of Yucatan and Mexico all in Spanish–FOR ALL LEVELS OF SPANISH– working with books and materials specially selected for each student’s level and interest. Grammar diagrams and books are also used to strengthen the use of the Spanish language.

The class can be taught individually, in pairs, or in a group. The programs can be developed from beginning level to advanced and anyone older than 16 years old who wants to learn about art, culture, and Spanish is welcome. Classes are held at the student’s home or at a location that is convenient for the teacher and student. 

If you have had a hard time learning Spanish or want to master the language, this is a great way to do it especially if you are an art and history lover! You will learn so much about this wonderful country and start speaking Spanish more fluently. 

ABOUT RAUL 

Raúl Gasque is a multidisciplinary artist and educator. His works have been exhibited in museums, galleries, and institutions worldwide. His texts have been published in magazines, exhibitions, and catalogs. He currently has two columns where he writes about culture and arts. 

His passion for sharing knowledge about culture, transcultural scenarios, and language constantly evolves. At this time he has successfully developed educational programs for two prestigious international schools in Taiwan and a series about art history in different venues in Mexico and Yucatan.
