Merida is finally getting high rise buildings and there are amazing places to enjoy a drink, dinner and sunset with a view and by far Kioyu Sky Lounge is our favorite rooftop for sunset dining!
Kioyu Sky Lounge by award winning Chef Pedro Evia serves incredible cocktails and asian inspired cuisine and has been a spot we like to dine and hang out in the evenings since it opened in 2022. It is located at the rooftop of the Marriott where you have a view of Centro and the North end of town. There is a long pool which adds to its tropical vibe, a lounge area and the restaurant area has a chic design with both tables and sofas to sit comfortably for intimate conversations.
The DJ gets started on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays with chill and nice music. You can still talk and enjoy conversation, but also feel the beats. It makes for a whole sensory experience with food, cocktails (or mocktails), sunset and dj. Nothing but nice vibes.

Cuisine & Cocktails on the Rooftop
The Asian inspired menu is quite extensive and the diner will find healthy and decadent dishes. They offer sushi, bao buns, gyozas, samosas, ramens, rice dishes as well as a variety of vegetable dishes. The food is fresh and creative. My favorites are the tempura cauliflower, the green ceviche made with fish, coriander, basil, ginger and rice paper chips.Also the crab bao buns are amazing.
