Tour 1: “Through the Heart of Mérida”

This tour begins at 9:30 AM at the Interactive Tourist Information Room within the Olimpo Cultural Center. It’s a morning journey through the heart of Mérida, offering an intimate look at some of the city’s most iconic sites. Participants will visit the Municipal Palace, Casa Montejo, Peninsular Athenaeum, the majestic Cathedral of San Ildefonso, and the Government Palace.

The tour then winds its way to the serene Hidalgo Park, home to other significant landmarks like the Church of the Third Order, the Central Building of UADY (Autonomous University of Yucatán), and the historic José Peón Contreras Theater. The journey concludes in the charming Santa Lucía Park, a favorite among locals and tourists alike.

If you plan on going, it’s recommended to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time to ensure registration and a prompt departure.

For those looking to explore Mérida in the evening, the “Montejo, A Glorious Past” tour is a perfect choice. Starting at 6:30 PM from the Tourist Information Module on Paseo de Montejo Avenue, this tour takes participants on a walk through history along one of Mérida’s most famous avenues.

The tour kicks off at the Monument to the Fatherland–very Instagramable. From there, participants will delve into the stories behind the European-influenced architecture of buildings like El Minaret, Quinta Montes Molina, Las Casas Gemelas, and monuments dedicated to Justo Sierra and Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
