The “Night of Legends Tour” is a fun tour to go on if you have never done it, it is a must for visitors and those living here. It is a fusion of theater with tourism, combined with a historical focus, aiming to explore the most significant points that shaped the personality of the city of Mérida as we know it, interactively. It’s a performance where characters interact with the audience in real settings that showcase Mérida’s history across various locations in the Historic Center.
The performance unfolds during a guided tour led by a costumed narrator who recounts historical events, complete with dates and important figures from the city’s colonial era. Scenes occur at the Peón Contreras Theater, the Tercera Orden Church, the Cathedral, the Casa de los Montejo, the Casa de Los Ladrillos tunnels, and the Convent of the Conceptionist nuns, among others.
The script and direction are under the care of Maricruz Hernández. The tour begins outside the Peón Contreras Theater and concludes at the Convent.
Tickets are available starting at 5:00 pm in front of the Cathedral.
