From Friday, May 17 to Sunday, May 26 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
From May 17 to May 26, Galería Secreta will transform into a museum to offer visitors an experience that promotes the enjoyment and understanding of contemporary art. Through guided tours of its spacious exhibition halls and special activities with curators, museographers, and artists of the exhibited works, visitors will engage in a refreshing exchange of ideas, reflections, and enriching learning experiences.
MECA will showcase the work of 12 visual artists across 6 exhibition halls, featuring more than 120 pieces of expressionist, abstract, and pop art. From established artists like the respected master Gabriel Ramírez, a native of Mérida, to emerging artists and those from other countries, the event will collectively enhance the cultural offerings of the city and leave a profound inspirational impact. Artists such as Ralf Walter, Roy Sobrino, Jordi Alós, Ariel Guzmán, Jorge Carlos Zoreda, Jaime Barrera, Celina Fernández, Lida Ponce, Francisco Barajas, Marcos González “Foreman,” and Rodrigo Morán will conclude a successful season for Galería Secreta in the magnificent culturally significant building in the beautiful Santiago neighborhood.
This surprising and dynamic project, MECA: Ephemeral Museum for Culture and Art, will be managed by cultural promoter Abril Cortés. It is an initiative by Lic. Mario Torre, creator of Galería Secreta and curator of the experiences, aimed at contributing to the development of culture and art in Mérida, Yucatán.
Visiting hours will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and admission will cost $100 pesos. Children enter for free, and students with ID and senior citizens pay $50 pesos. The ticket includes all activities.
