I’ve lived in Mérida, Yucatán for the past 16 years and have loved watching the city grow into one of Mexico’s most exciting cultural, culinary, and lifestyle destinations. In 2018, I founded MID CityBeat to give readers an insider look into the best of Mérida, Yucatán, Campeche, and Mexico through stories about travel, food, culture, design, events, and the inspiring people shaping the region.
What started as a passion project has grown into an online magazine along with Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube platforms focused on helping people discover the most interesting places, experiences, and hidden gems across the peninsula.
In 2022, I launched What’s Happening Yucatán with Stephanie Carmon on Radio Mundo 89.3 FM — the first English-language radio show in Mérida. The show airs every Friday and in 2025 received the Medal of Culture awarded by the National Association of Radio Hosts of Mexico.
Through MID CityBeat, my goal is simple: help people discover the very best of Yucatán while sharing the creativity, culture, gastronomy, and stories that make this region so special.
