I recently visited a beautiful jungle resort just outside of the town of Tekit and about an 1 ½ hours outside of Merida. As you drive onto the property you are greeted by the grounds keeper and taken in the Jeep style ATV to the reception. The property was a henequen hacienda in its time and many of the original structures are still preserved, in that beautiful wabi sabi feel we see all around Yucatan. The rest of the resort has been built in a way that incorporates the incredible nature that surrounds it.
