Getting to Progreso can be done in 3 different ways, the recommended option is by bus from the city center. The station is located on Calle 62 between 65 and 67 Centro, Mérida, where for only 17 pesos they take you to the port at the station located a few blocks from the Malecón.
Other transportation options are: Taxi – 30 min – From $290 to $350. Car – 30 min – From $60 to $100 (although note that getting a taxi out there is usually easy; however, getting back at night is more expensive and sometimes hard to find an available Uber or taxi).
Your day can start with a delicious breakfast at 6am at the local market near “malecón” or at 8am in Crabster or Alamdía, they are both 5-star restaurants with ocean views and food that looks like a work of art.

Geology Museum
Different pieces of animatronic dinosaurs are on display where you can learn while having fun. The museum is located at the “malecón” in Progreso.
Remember to bring cash to take advantage of the snacks and drinks offered by the stalls and street vendors that are all over the Progreso boardwalk. Enjoy the delicious marquesitas (local crepes), cold coconuts, raspados (local frozen drinks), corn, and more.
Here you will also find places that offer bathroom services and showers at affordable prices or different hotels where you can rent a room with an ocean view.
Silcer Beach Club
Open to the public here you can enjoy a restaurant, bar, pool, beach area and restrooms. They have a pool for children as well as games on the beach and excellent service from the staff. Reservations can be made.

Restaurant "El Toro"
In business for over 60 years, El Toro is a classic Yucatecan seafood restaurant and serves “botanas” snacks as soon as you sit down. It’s famous for its fried fish, and is absolutely packed with locals. It’s known as one of the best local restaurants in town.
A unique gastronomic experience in a restaurant voted as the best in Progreso for its exceptional food and first-class service that will make you feel pampered.

One of the cutest and fun tourist attractions where you can live with the mini pigs. This activity is free and you can visit it throughout the week. From Thursday to Sunday from 12 to 13 hours you can swim with them. Do not miss it!
