Children’s Week is coming up in Mérida, which means a week full of fun and adventure for the little ones in the house. To honor and recognize the importance of children in society, it is celebrated on April 30th each year in Merida. The history of Children’s Day dates back to the early 20th century when child labor was prevalent, and children’s rights were often overlooked. However, in 1925, the World Conference for the Well-being of Children was held in Geneva, and it was declared that every country should have a day dedicated to celebrating children.
In Merida, this week, there will be various activities planned for children to celebrate Children’s Day. These activities include games, crafts, music, and more. The city aims to provide a fun and safe environment for children to play and learn while celebrating their importance in society. Families visiting Merida can join in the celebrations and make lasting memories with their children.
From April 26th to 30th, the city of Mérida will be dressed up in celebration of the kids in their house. There will be a great variety of activities for all ages. Kids can enjoy storytelling, handicraft workshops, and games in different parks and public squares throughout the city. There will also be screenings of children’s movies in some squares and parks.
It was announced that more than 23 events for the whole family will take place in three different locations assigned for the event: the Zoológico Animaya (Animaya Zoo Park), the Pabellón Alegría (located on Avenida Jacinto Canek) Calle 124c with 55, next to Plaza Canek), and the Colonia Dolores Otero.
