🌟What’s got us hooked? Great craft beer selection on tap, lively taproom vibe, and creative eats that pair perfectly with your pint.

More than just a restaurant, Bardo Taproom is a place to hang out, sip something special, and dig into seriously good food. The ambiance is modern and effortlessly cool—a true taproom feel with industrial-chic decor, communal tables, and chill beats (especially during Friday DJ sets). We loved the local IPA on tap from a Mexican craft brewery, and the menu blends inventive street food with bold flavors. Don’t miss the Queso Kik (Gouda cheese with longaniza or shrimp) or the Tiki-Taka—a mouthwatering tiradito of rib-eye in oriental sauce.

One of the newest culinary stars near Calle 47, Piazzere brings Italian elegance to the corner of Calle 60 with a sweeping view of Parque Santa Ana. Whether you’re people watching on the terrace in the evening or enjoying chic air-conditioned dining room Piazzere offers a welcoming, elevated experience.

Pizza e Core

A Taste of Italy on Calle 47
Pizza e Core is our go-to for authentic Italian pizza and notably tasty salads in Mérida. This cozy pizzeria brings the heart of Italy to Centro. On our last visit, we arrived just as a group of Italians –friends of the owner–showed up, filling the space with laughter, wine, loud chatter and animated hand gestures. It was exactly what I hoped for in an Italian dining experience!

🌟What’s got us hooked? The awesome authentic pizza dough and tomato sauce–original recipe from Valentino’s grandmother and the sign that says “no pineapple and no worcestershire sauce served with the pizza” lol.

Pizza e Core sources high-quality cheeses and ingredients from the north of Mexico, crafting dishes from family recipes and his own inspired creations. Seating includes a street-level dining area and a comfy air-conditioned upstairs room. Our favorite dishes include Bruschetta with roasted eggplant,  Insalata Italiana with mozzarella, anchovies, and roasted onion, Baldraca pizza with smoked provolone and artichoke hearts and a of course a shot of limoncello to finish

Estación 47 🚂🌽
A Taste of Tradition in the Heart of Mérida

Set on the corner of Calle 47 x 48, right across from Parque La Plancha, Estación 47 is more than just a new restaurant—it’s a beautifully restored piece of Yucatán’s history. The space dates back over 100 years, once serving as a station for horse-drawn trams, and today it’s been transformed into a stunning dining experience that honors both its past and Mexico’s rich culinary traditions.

What We Love:

The Concept: A space rooted in history, reimagined for today—where architecture, culture, and food come together in a way that feels authentic and alive.

From the Menu: Everything revolves around corn, the heart of Mexican cuisine. From tlacoyos stuffed with requesón and huaraches topped with cecina or arrachera, to sopes with rajas and quesadillas filled with pork rinds in green sauce, each dish highlights heirloom masa and traditional techniques. The molcajete—loaded with meats, grilled vegetables, panela cheese, and handmade tortillas—is a true centerpiece meant for sharing.

For the Adventurous: Maguey worms on tostadas or escamoles sautéed in butter—an authentic taste of Mexico’s ancestral gastronomy.

The Vibe: Warm, lively, and deeply rooted in tradition. Between the open kitchen, the patio, and the occasional live music, it’s the kind of place where you settle in and let the evening unfold.

6. Pedinche Taco Bar

With a long, playful layout and bold orange strip curtains that give it a slightly retro, high-energy vibe, Pedinche Taco Bar is one of those spots in Mérida that instantly feels like a good time. Located on Calle 47 x 54 y 52 in Centro, this new taco spot brings together great food, a lively bar scene, and a concept that actually makes you smile.

“Pedinche” in Mexico is someone who’s always asking for things—but here, it’s a nod to the real pedinches: the adorable street dogs always hoping for a bite. The walls are lined with photos of these lovable pups, and yes… it’s dog-friendly, so your own four-legged friend is welcome too.

There’s a full bar with a TV for the game, front and back patio seating, and even a private air-conditioned room with its own screen—perfect for a group hang. It’s the kind of place you go for tacos and end up staying way longer than planned.

What We Love:

From the Menu: The Pedinche taco set (pastor, sirloin, chicken, chuleta) is a great way to try it all, while the volcán de pastor brings that crispy, cheesy bite everyone wants. The tuna tostada keeps things fresh, and the guacamole norteño with rib eye chicharrón leans fully into indulgence.

From the Bar: A Boing de guayaba with mezcal piquete hits that nostalgic-meets-bold note, the blended michelada is refreshing and fun, and their signature “El Pedinche” with chile xcatic, cilantro, mezcal, and sal de totomozcle is worth ordering at least once.

📍 Calle 47 x 54 y 52, Centro
🕐 Mon–Thurs: 1 PM – 12 AM
🕐 Fri–Sat: 1 PM – 3 AM
🌞 Sunday: 8 AM – 12 PM (They do Barbacoa! + Biciruta vibes–Sunday the streets of the Centro are closed and people bike in the morning….so pop by for barbacoa!)

7. Sandunga

Flavors from Oaxaca
If you’re craving the rich, earthy flavors of Oaxaca, Sandunga Cocina Oaxaqueña on Calle 47 is a must. This spot quickly became one of our favorites—not just for the food, but for the warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. From the colorful decor to the comforting aromas of roasted chiles and mole, it’s like stepping into a little corner of Oaxaca right here in Mérida.

🌟What’s got us hooked? The traditional tortilla folded and soaked in chile de agua molcajete sauce, topped with fresh cheese from San Pablo Huixtepec–omg to die for and EVERY dessert but espcially the dehydrated meringue, pineapple compote with pennyroyal, dried fruit cookie and basil cream. The chef is amazing.

We love starting with memelas or tlayudas, and always make room for the mole negro, a deep, complex sauce that hits every note. Don’t skip the chapulines (yes, grasshoppers!) or the perfectly paired mezcal cocktails. Everything is made with love and authenticity, and you can taste it in every bite.

Sandunga is the kind of place you come back to again and again—not just for the food, but for the experience. It’s casual, cozy, and full of heart, making it a standout on Calle 47 and a true gem in Mérida’s evolving food scene.

📍 Calle 47 #474 x 54 y 56, Centro
🕒 Open Wednesday–Monday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
🌟 Why it made the list: Unique regional cuisine, soulful cooking, cultural authenticity.
